Lahore Charia Ghar "Lahore Zoo" is one the oldest zoos in the world. I am glad to describe brief history of Lahore as under:

Lahore Zoo started 1960. Thereafter Lala Mela Ram donated in 1872. Since the Management was under Lahore Municipal Committee from 1872 to 1921. After That it control was transferred to the Deputy Commissioner and commissioner, Lahore. After that its management was placed with West Pakistan agriculture department and after that with the live stock and dairy development department. After that finally its management was transferred to the wildlife and parks department in 1982. After that presently control by zoo management committee of Lahore Zoo constituted under Punjab Zoos and Safari Parks Rules 2012.

In Lahore Zoo:

Animals: 1200 of 120 species i.e. primates, big cats antelope, deer, reptiles, ratites and birds.

Trees: 900 of 60 species.
